Changes  (Enhancements & Corrections)

Cool items in this update!

1.  The Bulk Rx system now sorts by last name, first name.  (Special programming request)

2.  Clinical module:  You can now setup a patient to bypass all clinical checks.  Edit patient->preferences tab->SKIP CLINICAL CHECKS.  If this is checked, the software will bypass all clinical checks (drug interactions, indications, contraindications, allergy check, disease state check, duplicate therapy check, dosing check, etc.)

3.  On  the online billing window there is a new box "(E7) Metric quantity override".  This is for specific use with certain state Medicaids.  Some Medicaids want you to bill compounds as a metric quantity of 1 instead of the actual amount dispensed.   Example.  If you are dispensing 30 GM, but the insurance wants the quantity billed as #1.   You can dispense #30 and then put in 1 in the "E7 Metric quantity override" field and the software will bill the quantity as 1.

4.  On the refill Rx window you can now use the print pan, zoom in, zoom out, best fit, create image & reset zoom for the prescription image.

5.  You can now print the formulas code, pharmacists initials and the technicians initials on the custom batch labels.

6.  Workflow/Rx tracking system!  See the new manual for details.   In Options the last tab is for data tracking.  Once you turn it on, you will need to restart The Compounder for it to take place.  You will need to add the new Rx Tracking bar code item to your Rx label.  Each station will need a bar code scanner.

7.  Chemical inventory, added audit button to allow the user to audit changes made to each inventory item.

8.  You can now print the last dispensing quantity on the Rx label.

9.  Morris Dickson price update.  This will now update the drug's AWPs.   Since the update contains the PACKAGE AWP, you must have the quantity in the QUANTITY 1 field for this to work.

10.  Morris Dickson price update.   There is an option to set the drug's speed code to the wholesaler order number.

11.  You can now print a blank compounded claim form from the prescription history windows.  It's under reports.

12.  The software can now print the ingredient concentration amounts for the ingredients.  This can be viewed from the formula->ingredient window and printed on the prescription label.  This was designed for us for sterile products.  See the new manual for details.

13.  From the To-Do list you can now print formula worksheets.

14.  Integrated Balance setting.  In Options, on the Log setup tab there is a new check box "If over/under %age, no continue".  If this box is checked when you are weighing an item and you hare over or under the percentage specified, the software will force the user to reweigh the item.  You cannot continue and store the current weight.

15.  When adding chemical inventory, the software will now populate the amount remaining and set it to the amount checked into inventory.

16.  Correction:  Accounts receivable:  One of the statements was printing the billing name where the shipping name should have been corrected.

17.  Correction:  Rx labels printing the "Gen for XXXXXXX field".   This has been changed, it was possible to have a blank link to another drug that had a blank link.

18.  Log of scripts report:  You can now group on PATIENT GENDER.

19.  Log of scripts report:  You can now group on PATIENT SPECIES.

20.  Formula devices:  There is a new check box on the devices for formulas, "No Qty calculations for logs"  If this is checked, the software will not change the quantity used when calculating amounts for logs.  This is useful for devices like filters, etc. where the quantity of filters does not change based on the amount made.

21.  The early refill warning message (based off the refill interval) has been redone to make the warning stand out more.

22.  Changes in pricing when using Insurance and a pricing schedule that uses QTY (Cost) or QTY (AWP).

23.  You can now attach files (PDF, JEG, DOC, TXT, XLS, etc.) files to various records in the software.  The path is limited to 254 chars.  We recommend that you use the UNC file naming convention and create a folder on your server.  See the manual for more details.

24.  Formula concentration labels (use can now set up two styles and the decimals places for each).

25.  The ASAP report has been redone.  It's now on Two tabs.  The setup is on the second tab.  The date range is on the first tab.

26.  ASAP report:  Add the option to send metric quantity used for each active ingredient.  The units is GRAMS.  MG can be specified.  You can also tell it to not send decimals.

40.  In the documents and scanning parts of the software, you can now load an existing image instead OR scan an image.

41.  On the printer settings window, there are two new buttons that allows users to reset printer settings for the current printer or for all printers.

3.14.5

51.  We've added the new FLORIDA'S Worker's compensation form (DSF-F5-DWC-10 Rev.01/01/2007) for offline claims.   This form is intended to print in color (yellow).   You will need a color printer to correctly print this form.

52.  You can now add documents and images to logs.  This is available in two places in the software:  making or editing a log, or from the lookup log screen.

53.  On the patient edit windows, there is a new button by the ZIP/Postal code field.  This button will copy the city, state and ZIP/Postal code from the Pharmacy's information option to the patient's information.  This is a quick way to fill in the patients city, state and ZIP if they are the same as the pharmacy's.

54.  Security system:  In previous releases when the software asked for a FUNCTION OVERRIDE, it would display the user name of the USER NAME of the LAST USER that used a function override (any function override).  There is now a check box on the bottom of the window that allows you to use the last user's name or to not use it.  This feature is not system wide and is controlled at the terminal level.

55.  Security system:  There is a new button on the Function override window that allows you to copy the CODE/INITIALS  of the current pharmacist that is logged into the system.  This will only work if the PHARMACISTS INITIALS/CODE is the same as their USER NAME in the security system.  This allows the current pharmacist to press the button to automatically enter their name.  They only have to enter their password.

56.  Log of scripts report:  We've changed the DOCTOR'S PRACTICE TYPE:   In previous versions it looked for an EXACT MATCH.  In this release it looks for partial matches using "START WITH".  I.e.  VET = VET, VETS, VETERINARIAN.

57.  Balances:  We've added support for more generic balances.   Because many pharmacies have invested resources in various balances that are considered NON-SUPPORTED balances, we've included a new interface to balances that MAY work with many balances. This new interface does not have all the features of supported balances.
A non-supported balance is a balance where we have not had the balance in our development office for testing and certification. It generally takes us about 2 or 3 days working with a balance to get it certified with the software. If you would like your non-supported balance certified, you may contact us. We will have either you or the manufacturer of the balance ship us the balance AND the manual. Most manufacturers are not able to send us older balances. We will then begin the testing & certification process. You may be charged for the development time and shipping charges for the work done on a non-supported balance.
We added a new feature called MANUAL BALANCE SETUP. You may use this feature to setup a non-supported balance and have the balance work with The Compounder but not do any of the data parsing.
There is a section in the new manual that discusses this issue.

58.  From the Formula Edit screen you can now go directly to the price quote screen.  The price quote button is on the Pricing tab.

59.  From the Formula lookup screen you can now go directly to the price quote screen.  Press the Price Quote button.

NOTE:  The new CMS form includes places for 4 modifiers.  In the formula->pricing MODIFIERS field you can now enter the 2 character modifiers without any spaces I.e  25,KO,KP,26 = 25KOKP26.  You can still enter the modifiers with commas.

61.  California CURES new ASAP report V3R0 is included in this release.   This will allow you to file the new ASAP 3.0 standard with California.  You should read through the following documentation and make sure that your data complies with the following specifications.
There are a few things that need to be noted.
First:  Do not use any punctuation for any telephone number fields.  If the phone number is not available, you must use the Pharmacy area code and seven zeros or seven ones.
Second:  Send only M or F for Gender.  Sending an ‘A’ will cause a rejection.
Third:  Do not use any '*' in the name fields.
See your CURES manual & documentation for details.

69.  When using special quantity pricing, you can now include pricing for the same quantity but different package sizes.
I.e.    Qty #300 Package size 100 ML #3 packages Price $132.00
Qty #300 Package size 30 ML #10 packages Price $230.00
        Qty #300 Package size 10 ML # 30 packages Price $300.00
When you do a price quote or calculate the price for a prescription you will be asked which package size you are using and the software will calculate the correct price based off of package size.  If you are using regular quantity pricing that does not use multiple package sizes, make sure that you leave package size field blank.

70.  We've added the new Blue Cross Blue Shield Point Of Sale Claim Form.   This form is designed to print directly after the prescription label.  The actual claim form allows for up to 5 Rxs.  We print one Rx per claim form.  The name of the claim form will be BCBS of "state"  where the state is the pharmacy's state.
