Changes in the software
Make sure that you read ALL update changes before you do
your update. Some changes may affect your pharmacy operation and may
require the setup of certain of new features.
Changes in 3.7.12 Apr. 11 , 2005
1. If you have the A/R module and the credit card module there was an issue when posting a credit card payment to the A/R. This is corrected.
2. There were some minor changes to the PCCA worksheet style. (This is for PCCA support only)
3. There were some changes in the printer mapping for Rx on hold labels and Call Dr labels. They both go to the same printer. After this update you may need to go into File->Printer setup->Rx on hold labels & Call Dr Labels to reconfigure your printer settings.
4. When making a log the LOT NUMBER for the ingredients and devices no longer automatically drops down. This is for users that are not using the inventory system. It would force them to view the drop down & press the Esc. key and then type in their lot number.
5. Deleting a claim from the reconciliation system is added to the data tracking system. (If data tracking is enabled in Options).
6. The data tracking system now requires a password to delete records. This password can only be obtained by PK home office support.
7. The Compounded claim form will ONLY print for drugs/formulas that have the drug type set to 'C' (Compounded). The claim form will not print for Brands or Generic drugs.
8. The Compounded claim form will now ask if you want to print ALL ingredients or just the ones marked as active. This is in preparation for the next release. We will be moving the main claims setup to each insurance. This will allow each insurance to be setup independently.
9. The are several more hot keys in the software.
10. On the windows that have tabs, we've changed the hot keys to be numbered. I.e. 1.Chemical 2.Add Inventory 3.Current item. The number is the hot key. To quickly use the keyboard to go to the 2nd tab, the user would press Alt-2.
11. There is a new command line parameter that can be setup by PK Software home office that allows one client to link into two different data servers. Caution: This should only be setup by the PK Software home office.
12. There were a few changes to the Worker's compensation billing forms.
13. On the Help menu there is a new option that will load your browser to view the latest software update changes.
14. When installing the updates, you are given the option to load your browser to view the latest software update changes.
15. Chemical Inventory/Pricing System: In this release we changed how chemical inventory and pricing is entered, edited and displayed. We did this to accommodate several different ways users were using the inventory/pricing part of the chemical inventory. We will describe the various ways users have tried to use the chemical inventory system.
a. Users that are using full strict inventory (This is set in options). With this set the software forces you to use a lot number that was checked into the chemical inventory system. It does several checks when entering inventory into the software. This is also used with the chemical QA bar coding.
b. Users that are not using strict inventory but still enter chemical inventory information into the chemical inventory. When using this system users can still select a lot number using the drop down list but the software does not force the drop down list. They can hand-enter a lot number, expiration date, pricing, etc.
c. Users that have entered some data into the chemical inventory system but do not keep it current. In other words, part of the chemical data is from the inventory item and part is from the chemical.
d. Users that do not enter any information into the chemical inventory, but they do enter prices, etc. into the current chemical item tab for a chemical.
Programming the different ways users use the software has created some problems in the past. Part of this problem is the various pathways the software would take when controlling inventory. Part of the problem is education of users on the various ways to do inventory. This creates a lot of over head in the software where the software is trying to synchronize the information between the items checked into chemical inventory and the current chemical inventory item.
Part of this programming change allows for better QA in compounding. In version 3 several new items are stored with the logs that were not stored in version 2. I.e. The actual NDC number of the product used, the actual price, etc. These are also required for proper billing when billing a third party. The programming also allows for QA in compounding by bar coding chemicals.
In this release, we modified how inventory is linked to an inventory item. If you are using the 3rd tab on the chemical edit to edit all of the current information, you should press the UNLINK button.
If you are only tracking pricing and not inventory for your chemicals, when entering the information you can skip the inventory amounts and enter the pricing. You can enter a dash "-" for the lot number.
In this new Chemical Inventory window, look for several new hot keys. I.e. Alt-N takes you to the NDC field.
Theses changes will help ALL USERS to make better use of the software.
16. There are several new checks in the online billing when saving a claim to the reconciliation file. These checks are internal checks that can be used by our home office in diagnosing reconciliation information. Options: Data tracking must be enabled to track this information.
17. If you are dispensing a brand or generic item in the prescription and you leave the "Discard after" field blank, the software will default to one year.
18. The refill reminder system added another filter. By Doctor Practice type (NOT). This allows you to filter all by practice types that does not match a specific type. I.e. all but not VETS.
19. The log of scripts summation pricing fields no longer print when you select NO PRICING or NO COSTS.
20. The new ONLINE backup service provided by PK Software is now available. See our website for more information.
21. The multiple log of scripts report can now print up to four lot numbers.
22. Users that use DK Healthcare can upload a file from their wholesaler that will update their drug file. (Costs & AWP)
23. Users that use Mutual as a wholesaler can upload a file from their wholesaler that will update their drug file. (Costs & AWP)
Changes in 3.7.11 Mar. 21 , 2005
1. There is a new function in formula edit. This is designed to help users converting from other systems. On the ingredients and instructions tab, there is a new button (COPY INGREDIENTS). This button will copy the ingredients and instructions from another formula to the current formula. The current formula cannot have any ingredients.
2. If you have the AUTOMATIC LOG OFF FEATURE enabled in Options but you do not have the USER SECURITY SYSTEM enabled, the software will display a warning. If you want to use the automatic log off feature you must enable user security.
3. In the 3.7.10 update we made a change so that the software will automatically recalculate the beyond use date of a log based on the shortest expiration date of an ingredient. The software will now show both dates and ASK if you want to change the date.
4. The software now allows you to export doctors to an encrypted XML file. The file can then be imported back into another computer that is using The Compounder. This is useful for transferring doctor information between two computers if you have two or more stores.Changes in 3.7.10 Mar. 16 , 2005

This includes formulas, chemical, prescriptions, A/R accounts, etc. The turn around is very quick! Call us for more details.
3. QuickBooks interface. When using the QB Batch send function, you can now set to to send only invoices before a certain date.
4. Users that need to send their data file to Atlantic Associates can now do it FTP (internet). This is described in the new manual. Search the Index for ASAP / Atlantic Associates.
5. A/R users can use the LOCK account function. This was in version 2 of the software and have been added to version 3. With a locked account, you cannot create invoices or debits.
6. One of the new features updated the chemical's billing NDC from the NDC number of the item that was checked into inventory. However, this may have caused problems where users did not enter the NDC number for the inventory item. It would blank out the billing NDC. In this update, we only update the chemical's billing NDC number IF there is an NDC number in the inventory item.
7. Corrected a bug that was introduced in 3.7.9. When you made a log entry while filling a refill you would get an A/V error followed by a "query not in insert mode" error.
8. There is a new function that checks the beyond use date when making a log. When you save a log the software will compare each ingredient's expiration date. If any of them are less than the beyond use date (expiration date) of the log, the beyond use date of the log will be set to the shortest date.Changes in 3.7.9 Mar. 10 , 2005
BEFORE DOING THIS UPDATE WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WRITE DOWN YOUR CURRENT PRINTER, BALANCE and MODEMS SETUP.
