Changes in the software   

Make sure that you read ALL update changes before you do your update.  Some changes may affect your pharmacy operation and may require the setup of certain of new features.

Changes  (Enhancements & Correction
s)

1.  There are several changes to the Rx verification system. 
    a.  You can now validate BRANDS/GENERICS by NDC as well as the UPC codes.  
    b.  For COMPOUNDS, you can now validate down to the lot number dispensed.
    c.  You can now add user notes to each scan.
    d.  On the Rx Verification Details screen, we now show the product lot numbers (1-4)
    e.  On the Rx Verification Details screen, you can now view the user note as a grid preview line.
    f.  The software now displays up to 4 dispensing lot numbers on the Rx Verification window.

2.  A third party reconciliation report has been corrected.    (Message: AMBIGUOUS Field found)

3.  A new claim form was added.  Illinois Dept. of Public Aid.

4.  There is a new report for the state of NY for pricing.  In the drug/formula on the pricing tab there is a new field "State Qty".   Enter the qty the state wants the pricing list.   You can now run a report that will list all ACTIVE drugs, where the State Qty is greater than 0. The report will calculate the CASH price.

5. There is a new option for discounts on CASH pricing.   On the insurance setup on the pricing tab, if you have the USE SEPARATE PRICING FOR BRANDS, GENERICS, COMPOUNDS checked, another check box APPLY TIER AS DISCOUNT will be displayed.  If this is checked, the software will now apply a discount for the three TIERS.

6.  There is a new sub-menu in Activities.  It's called Inventory Activities.  Some of the inventory items has been moved to this menu.

7.  There is a new utility (Activities->Inventories Activities->Formula/Drug Process Reorders).   This utility mimics a utility in another pharmacy system.  This utility looks for drugs that need to be reordered.  It will then add the OPTIMUM STOCK AMOUNT to the STOCK ON HAND field.  You can print a report at the end of the utility.

8.  If you are using The Compounder Rx and the To Do system, there is now a checking system that will check that the formula in to ToDo list matches the formula dispensed with the Rx.

9.  If you are adding the log lot number devices information when creating A/R invoices, the system now adds the NDC number.

10.  PC Charge credit  card module.  There are several internal changes to the PC Charge integration system that makes it compatible with the new PC Charge 5.7.   This new update has been tested with PC Charge 5.6 & 5.7.

11.  We've increased the timer on the scale integration.   This allows a user how have a scale window open longer.    You can use this feature to have the software document the zeroing of the balance along with the weight captured.

12.  Chemical inventory:  In 4.3.0  we did not allow a user to edit the amount remaining field.  In 4.3.3 this field is now displayed again.

13.  There is now a way to export patient information and then import the patient information into another copy of The Compounder. 

14.  There is a new feature that allows you to use the ingredient's density to calculate the volume during a log.   To use this feature, enter the density in the chemical (on the chemical's technical tab).  Now when you make a log, the software will use the density value and calculate a new field "Equivalent Volume based on Density."   This value is recalculated if you use the "RECALCULATE AMOUNT USED" button on the log window.

15.  There are several new ways to print a patient's credit card information on the Rx label.  You can select on secure methods and non-secure methods.  It can also be set to print secure or non-secure based on the user security system and the current users security privileges.

16.  PC Charge credit card module.  The new integration module now returns information about the CVVS status and the AVS (address).

17.  The ASAP report no longer allows a negative refills.  This could happen if you are using the CALCULATE THE NUMBER OF REFILLS BASED ON QTY REMAINING.

18.  On the scheduler window, you can now print of various report types (day, week, month, etc.) from the scheduler.

19.  On the balance calibration window, you can now print a custom report "Custom print" based of the current setup of the grid.   The grid also has navigation controls embedded in the bottom of the grid.

20.  On the balance calibration window, you can now view the details of the calibration by double clicking on a calibration item.   Several balances return information about the calibration.  This is the information you can view.

21.  On the balance calibration window, you can now enter a MANUAL CALIBRATION information.  Some balances do not allow the software to control the calibration.  For these balances, you can enter information about how/when/who/etc. did the calibration.

22.  The software now works with the newer Precisa modules.  These balances use the working of "NET" and not "ACTUAL"

23.  In the user security system, the software now tracks all information as to when a user logs in or logs out of the software.

24.  In the user security system, under logs, you can now have the software automatically log a user off the software when a log is completed.  This forces users to log back into the system.

25.  You can now search for drugs/formulas by UPC code.

26.  On the ToDo management system, there are two new types:  PHYSICIAN CONTACT and PATIENT CONTACT.   From the RX STATUS window, you can add a new PHYSICIAN CONTACT, by creating a PHYSICIAN CONTACT.  From this window, make sure that the ToDo Management integration is checked.     From the RX STATUS window, you can also create the PATIENT CONTACT, by pressing the PATIENT CONTACT button.

27.  On the create PATIENT FOLLOW UP or PATIENT CONTACT window, there is a new button that allows the user to enter a time stamp into the notes information field.

28.  On the DATES window (the window that is used to enter dates), there is a new button to the right of the ENDING DATE.  If you press this button, the software will enter the ENDING DATE the same as the STARTING DATE and press enter.   This is a quick way to enter past dates.  For example, you want to view a report for 12/31/2007.   Bring up the date window, enter 12/31/2007 in the STARTING DATE and press the button, the software will automatically enter the ENDING DATE of 12/31/2007 and press enter for you.

29.  Online billing users:  There is a new version of RSI included with this release.  You must manually uninstall the old RSI and then install the new RSI.  This release will only allow one copy of the software to run at a time.  Some users were having RSI load several times and then getting duplicate claims sent to the insurances.

30.  The doctors, patients, contacts, pharmacists & technicians email address fields are now longer.

31.  The doctors, contacts, pharmacists & technicians website fields are now longer.

32.  The doctors email address is now shown on the lookup windows.

33.  The TOTAL PRICE field on the Rx Status window is now BLUE.  It was white.

34.  The Patient ID was added to the bottom of the Rx History window.

35.  The pharmacy's NPI number was added to the Prescription Drug Insurance Claim form.

36.  The pharmacy's NPI number was added to the patient prescription history reports.

37.  Log of Scripts report:  You can now sort the report based on Patient Price.

38.  From the doctor lookup window, you can now send an email to the current doctor.  Press the Email button on the toolbar.

39.  New Rx windows:  On the Misc. Rx tab, we've added shortcuts for the Rx Due Date, Compound Date, Ship Date and the Fill Date fields.

40.  The Compounder Rx:   For the prescriptions labels, there is a place where you can print the ingredients.  In options (File->Options->Rx labels) on the right side you can now have three more options on which ingredients to print.  You can print ALL ingredients, ACTIVE ingredients or NON-ACTIVE ingredients.

41.  The Compounder Rx:   For the prescriptions labels, there is a place where you can print the ingredients.  In options (File->Options->Rx labels) on the right side you can enter an ingredient leader.  The is information before the ingredient information.  Something like:  "CONTAINS:" or  "Also contains".

42.  The Compounder Rx:   For the prescriptions labels, there is a place where you can print the ingredients.  In options (File->Options->Rx labels) on the right side you can select to print the ingredient counter.

43.  The Compounder Rx:  The online billing window now sorts the ingredients by the counter #. 

44.  The Compounder Lab:  The Rx's linked to logs window now sorts the grid information by Fill Date and then the order they were entered in.

45.  There is a new setting in options for Rxs:  Reprint Rx Labels after edit log (byu date change).   If this setting is checked, then after you edit a log, the software will look for all Rx's that used this log and IF the beyond use date (byu date) for the Rxs is less than the beyond use date for the log, the software will then list the Rxs that have been affected by the change.   The software will display a window listing the Rxs. (Rx#, patient, fill date).   On this window, you can check each Rx that you want to reprint the Rx label.

46.  The grids in the Rx Verification system are upgrades for features & colors.
